Converting a Photo or Image to a Penciled Drawing
1. Open the image you want, any image is fine. I have used this
image.
Note: I own copyrights to this image. You can use
it only for your personal use to do this tutorial.
2. Duplicate the BG layer. [layer > duplicate layer]
3. Desturate the duplicated layer. (ctrl+shift+U)
4. Duplicate that layer. [layer > duplicate layer]
5. Invert the recently duplicated layer. (ctrl+I)
6. Change the Mode of the inverted layer, to "Color Dodge". (Go
to Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options and change the blending
mode)
7. Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur; choose the desired
settings, around 2.5 usually looks good but you may have to use
lesser or higher depending upon the image you choose.
